Pigeon Forge's groovy new getaway brings tacos, adults-only pool time to the Smokies

Looking to turn back time for your next vacation and get your groove on? A new Pigeon Forge hotel can be your time machine.

The Wayback, a retro-themed hotel mostly for adults, opened its doors Nov. 2 with '70s nostalgia and the vibes of an old Palm Springs roadside motel. It's located at 2760 Parkway next to Flapjack's Pancake Cabin and across the street from the Comedy Barn.

With 134 rooms, the getaway features a hotel bar, as well as an Airstream bar and a taco truck by the pool. The pool is only available to guests over 16 during the day and is 18-and-up after 5 p.m.

The hotel caters to adults and older teens, but children are allowed. It just might not be their vibe.

Paloma, the hotel's restaurant, features Mexican-style cuisine for guests to enjoy, along with cocktails, beer and wine.

The Wayback is a Tribute portfolio hotel, part of the Marriott family.
