On way back to locker room, Bills safety Micah Hyde squirts water at Jacksonville fan
It was a dry day for a wild-card playoff game in Jacksonville, except for the fan who got under Buffalo Bills safety Micah Hyde’s skin.
Late in the third quarter, Hyde took a knee to the head trying to make a tackle on Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Marcedes Lewis. He was taken back to the locker room to be evaluated for a concussion. CBS cameras were following him when he suddenly used the water bottle in his hand to squirt water at a fan.
Probably fair to assume that wasn’t a member of #BillsMafia who just wanted to be squirted with water from a Bills player. We have no idea what was said to Hyde, or if anything was thrown at him (CBS’ cameras didn’t catch what caused the water spray), but Tony Romo and Jim Nantz both commented on it when it happened.
It isn’t a big deal, but it’s at least worth mentioning this isn’t the first time an opposing player hasn’t taken kindly to Jacksonville fans. At the end of a Seahawks-Jaguars game in December, Seahawks defensive lineman Quinton Jefferson had to be held back from going into the crowd after someone threw a drink at him.
This situation wasn’t nearly that ugly, and the water will dry. Nobody would have even known had CBS not had a camera on Hyde when he decided to douse a fan.
