Water runoff sparks contamination fears in Mexico

An eyewitness captured the moment when alleged wastewater was flushed from the coastline of the iconic Acapulco bay and into the Pacific.

"The constant outflow of black water lasted approximately 25 minutes, which came with a lot of pressure. They were very stinking waters, they made me nauseous", an eyewitness that would like to remain anonymous told Reuters.

In response, the Guerrero State Government where Acapulco is located posted a video on Facebook denying that the water was part of the drainage system or a rupture of a sewage tank.

The Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources is investigating the case.
