Dakota Fanning becomes a spectacle for unknown audiences in the creepy first trailer for The Watchers.

"You can’t see them, but they see everything," is the tagline for the thriller, which marks the feature directorial debut for Ishana Night Shyamalan, 24, the daughter of The Sixth Sense director M. Night Shyamalan.

Based on the novel by A.M. Shine, The Watchers is about 28-year-old Mina (Fanning), an artist who "gets stranded in an expansive, untouched forest in western Ireland," according to a synopsis.

"When Mina finds shelter, she unknowingly becomes trapped alongside three strangers who are watched and stalked by mysterious creatures each night."

The cast also includes Georgina Campbell from Barbarian, Oliver Finnegan and Olwen Fouere.

M. Night Shyamalan, 53, also a producer on the film, shared the trailer for his daughter's film on Instagram Tuesday, sharing Ishana's trajectory in her filmmaking career. She also wrote the screenplay for The Watchers.

"From making shorts, to going to @nyutisch school, to becoming one of our top writer/directors on Servant to this incredible moment of #TheWatchers in theaters this summer… @ishy_night has always made me very proud. And even better than making a dazzling film, she is a wonderful person," he wrote.

Ishana also worked with her dad behind the scenes on his 2021 film Old. The father-daughter duo did an interview with The New York Times at the time to discuss collaborating together.

"I knew she would be a filmmaker, but I never pushed her into it. We'd watch a movie and she would really connect with what we were watching. She was able to discern what was exceptional about what we had watched," he said at the time.

She added, "There are certain expectations the last name brings. But I love that, because it's something for me to knock down. Hopefully, I put my own artistic stamp on what I create. Of course there are benefits. I was lucky to be born into a life where I have the resources to make what I want to make, something that not all women of color have."

Shyamalan, whose most recent film was Knock at the Cabin and next directs the thriller Trap, also shares daughters Shivani, 19, and Saleka, 27, with wife Bhavna.

The Watchers is in theaters June 7.
