The legal drama “Suits” may have been the show of the summer, but another beloved USA property is on top now.

Tony Shalhoub reprises his Emmy-winning role of Adrian Monk in “Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie,” a Peacock original that sees the ol’ detective with obsessive compulsive disorder return for one last case (or is it?) in the age of COVID. In the 90-minute film, which is now streaming, Monk is preparing for his stepdaughter Molly’s (Caitlin McGee) upcoming nuptials when he finds himself pulled into an investigation involving a charismatic billionaire with his eyes set on space (James Purefoy).

During its original run from 2002 to 2009, “Monk” was a critically acclaimed comedy and an Emmy mainstay, taking home eight awards in all. Much of the original series cast has returned for the sequel film, including Ted Levine, Traylor Howard, Jason Gray-Stanford, Melora Hardin and Hector Elizondo. A heartfelt nostalgia trip that is perfectly timed and captures our changing world, “Mr. Monk’s Last Case” is the awards contender to watch this weekend.

However, if you’re not interested in any Monk-y business, other contenders include:

  • “30 for 30: The Great Heisman Race of 1997”: The winner of this year’s Heisman Trophy — awarded to the best player in college football — will be announced Saturday at 8/7c on ESPN. With three impressive quarterbacks and the most talented wide receiver in the game in the mix, it’s sure to be a good one. But make sure you stick around after the presentation for the latest episode of the Emmy-nominated “30 for 30,” which takes a deep dive into the unbelievable 1997 race, which featured Peyton Manning, Charles Woodson, Ryan Leaf and Randy Moss. The documentary airs Saturday at 9/8c on ESPN.

  • “Fargo”: An unintentional homage to “Stranger Things” is just one of the highlights of this week’s episode, “Insolubilia,” as Dot (Juno Temple) takes on a baseball bat-wielding Gator (Joe Keery) and his crew when they attempt to kidnap the pint-sized Midwestern mother. Elsewhere, Roy (Jon Hamm) solves two problems by killing one bad egg. The episode is now streaming on Hulu.

  • “Doctor Who”: Emmy winner Neil Patrick Harris guest stars as The Toymaker — a role he was seemingly born to play — in “The Giggle,” the third and final special celebrating the 60th anniversary of “Doctor Who.” He joins franchise stars David Tennant and Catherine Tate in the adventure, which will finally introduce fans to Ncuti Gatwa’s Fifteenth Doctor. The episode streams Saturday on Disney+.
