Jeopardy!

Friday will truly mark the end of an era, when the last episode of Jeopardy! hosted by Alex Trebek finally airs. As no one knew at the time of filming that this episode would be Trebek's last, it's likely to be, on the surface, a Jeopardy! installment like any other. But the details of its production make it one for the ages: The TV icon taped his final shows just 10 days before his death in November, returning after an intestinal surgery to do the job he loved one last time. "On the second day of taping, what would end up being his final taping and the final time he was in the studio, I went to [Trebek] and said, 'Hey, that was the most incredible thing I've ever seen,' " executive producer Mike Richards told EW. "He was exhausted, obviously, and he looks up and he goes, 'Thank you.' He knew what he had done and appreciated the fact that we all knew what he had done." Jeopardy! will go on (with a series of interim guest hosts lined up for upcoming shows), but the GHOST (Greatest Host of Syndicated TV) can never be replaced. —Tyler Aquilina

Dickinson

Season Premiere
The Apple TV+ series returns for a second season that creator Alena Smith describes as a "sexy, psychological thriller." Following a first season filled with loss, Emily Dickinson (Hailee Steinfeld) recommits herself to her writing anew. Season 2 finds her wrestling with fame and the public life of a writer as newspaper man Sam Bowles (Finn Jones) tempts her personally and professionally. New guest stars abound with funny guys Timothy Simons and Nick Kroll getting in on the fun of this cheeky, smart take on the beloved poet. —Maureen Lee Lenker

Season Premiere
In season 2, Matthew (Matthew Goode) and Diana (Teresa Palmer) travel back in time to the 16th century as they seek the Book of Life and a witch powerful enough to help Diana master her magic. The journey brings historian Diana into the path of some of her own research subjects, including Queen Elizabeth herself, but it's rife with danger as the couple must contend with a political powder keg determined to use witches as scapegoats and the specter of Matthew's past. Meanwhile, the Congregation and Matthew and Diana's friends back in the 20th century are also racing to solve the mysteries Diana's power has unlocked. —MLL

Season Premiere
After a nearly two-year break, American Gods is finally back for season 3, picking up the story of everyone's favorite demigod ex-con. This season, Shadow Moon is hiding out in the town of Lakeside after discovering that Mr. Wednesday is his father, but he's about to make another discovery: he can't ignore the godly blood that runs through his veins. He's also not the only one who's had a difficult journey; American Gods changed showrunners yet again for season 3 and saw more behind-the-scenes turmoil, including the firing of star Orlando Jones. However, there will be plenty of new faces this season, including Danny Trejo and Dominique Jackson as new incarnations of Mr. World, Game of Thrones star Iwan Rheon as leprechaun Liam Doyle, and Marilyn Manson as a Viking death metal singer. Tiger

Not a sequel or prequel to last year's insanely popular Tiger King docuseries, this has more to do with that other popular 2020 docuseries, The Last Dance, about Michael Jordan and his final season with the Chicago Bulls. This one — a two-part special split over two weekends — is about legendary golfer Tiger Woods — his meteoric rise as a young pro, his wild fall from grace that included a sex scandal and DUI, his career recovery and eventual fifth win at the 2019 Masters. How did he come roaring back? New interviews and never-before-seen footage provide a rare glimpse into the life of this sports great. —Gerrad Hall
