Football’s biggest night is almost here, and for many people the most exciting part of the Big Game is the event’s annual halftime show. Usher will be the headlining performer at Super Bowl LVIII, which will see the Kansas City Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers at Las Vegas’s Allegiant Stadium on Sunday, Feb. 11.

Usher’s halftime performance, in addition to the entire football game, will broadcast live on CBS. Those without cable can tune into the show live on Paramount+, the exclusive streamer for this year’s Super Bowl.

“It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before,” Usher said in a statement upon the halftime show announcement. “Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon.”

Usher follows Rihanna, who performed at the 2023 halftime show and broke viewership records when the pop star unveiled her second pregnancy during the performance. In 2022, the all-star tag team of Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and 50 Cent hit the stage.

Considering the Super Bowl’s viewership records last year (the third-biggest television program in history), and the NFL’s continued record highs this season (thanks in part to Taylor Swift), there’s no question that the 2024 Super Bowl LVIII will again deliver an unforgettable live show this year.

The Chiefs’ march to Super Bowl LVIII this year received heightened attention in pop culture after it emerged last fall that the team’s veteran tight end Travis Kelce is dating megastar Taylor Swift. Swift’s presence as a spectator at Chiefs games this season has generated enormous buzz for the league and promises to bring even more viewers to the Super Bowl — assuming Swift is able to make it back from Japan to attend the Big Game.

This will be the Chiefs’ fourth trip to the Super Bowl since 2020 when they defeated the 49ers 31-20.
