It’s that time of year again. Yes, fall means pumpkin spice lattes and waiting for cool weather — meaning any weather under 90 degrees, for Floridians. For some people, fall means mining your favorite scarves and boots out of the back of your closet.

But for reality TV fans across America who enjoy watching any of the shows from ABC’s “Bachelor” franchise, fall means roses, wine, and watching hour-long episodes of singles looking for love in the most natural setting possible: on reality television.

But this fall won’t bring “The Bachelor” that fans are used to. ABC is unveiling a new edition of their iconic dating show called “The Golden Bachelor,” featuring an older age group for the show’s dating pool than fans are used to.

The first episode of “The Golden Bachelor” will be immediately followed by the first episode of the latest season of “Bachelor in Paradise,” a spin-off dating show that first debuted in 2014.

And this season, season 9, will feature two singles from the Sunshine State who will be entertaining the country with their search for love on the beaches of Mexico.

They found love in a hopeless place: 'Bachelor in Paradise' couples who are still together

What is the difference between ‘The Bachelor’ and ‘Bachelor in Paradise?’

“Bachelor in Paradise” is a spin-off of the show that started it all: “The Bachelor.” The first season debuted 12 years after the first season of “The Bachelor” aired and 11 years after the first season of “The Bachelorette” premiered.

“Bachelor in Paradise” takes contestants from previous seasons of “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” and gives them another chance at finding love on the small screen.

Contestants, a lot of them “Bachelor” nation fan-favorites, are invited to a beachfront villa in Mexico, where they spend about three weeks dating each other in search of their perfect matches.

“Bachelor in Paradise” is less like the original “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” shows in that contestants are not all there to date one person and see who “wins.” The playing field is more leveled on this show, giving all of the contestants a better chance at leaving with a relationship — and for some, an engagement.

Is Jesse Palmer hosting ‘Bachelor in Paradise?’

Canadian-born TV personality and ex-football commentator Jesse Palmer will be the host of the upcoming season of “Bachelor in Paradise” and the first season of “The Golden Bachelor.”

Palmer is an honorary Floridian. The 2001 University of Florida graduate spent three years playing for the Florida Gators football team under Steve Spurrier’s coaching, from 1997 to 2000. He later went on to play for the New York Giants as their backup quarterback from 2001 to 2005.

During his NFL career, Palmer became the first professional athlete to star as “The Bachelor” in 2004. In 2021, following long-time “Bachelor” franchise host Chris Harrison’s exit from the show, Palmer became the host for all of the “Bachelor” franchise’s shows.

Who is Jess from ‘The Bachelor’ 2023?

Orlando native Jessica Girod, 24, who made her “Bachelor” debut on the 27th season of “The Bachelor,” is coming back to the show to participate in this season of “Bachelor in Paradise.”

Jess was eliminated in the sixth week of her time on Zach Shallcross’s season. According to Bachelor Nation Wiki, “Jess describes herself as a hopeless romantic and is ready for her fairytale romance worthy of a Taylor Swift love song.”

What season of ‘The Bachelor’ was Kat Izzo on?

Tampa native Katherine Izzo, 27, was also a contestant on the 27th season of “The Bachelor,” competing with Jess and 30 other women for Zach’s love. She, like Jess, will be making her second appearance before “Bachelor” nation on the 9th season of “Bachelor in Paradise” later this month.

Kat was eliminated on the seventh week of Zach's season, one week after Jess. According to Bachelor Nation Wiki, “Katherine is a vibrant go-getter with a witty sense of humor and a glass-half-full attitude. She loves spending time with her nieces and nephews and can’t wait to have a family of her own. Katherine’s career as a registered nurse is extremely important to her, but her number one priority is to find her perfect match.”
