Election Night 2020

HOW/WHEN & WHERE TO WATCH: 8 p.m. on ABC/CBS/NBC/Fox

The great day of reckoning is here, as perhaps the strangest election in modern American history culminates in what's sure to be a strange Election Night to match. Fair warning: Don't expect a winner to be declared by the end of the night. Experts are estimating it may be a week or longer before the full results are known due to this year's massive influx of mail-in ballots and the extra time it takes to count them. Never fear, though; the networks will still be providing coverage all night long, tracking the results as they come in. Tune in (after you vote, of course) to see what 2020's writers have in store for their climax. We're sure it won't be nerve-wracking at all! —Tyler Aquilina

HOW/WHEN & WHERE TO WATCH: 11 p.m. on Showtime

If you need a comedic escape from all of the news coverage, The Late Show host Stephen Colbert aims to deliver with his election night special — on Showtime, not CBS. The one-hour event, which has a title about as long as the Borat sequel — Stephen Colbert's Election Night 2020: Democracy's Last Stand: Building Back America Great Again 2020 — will include real-time reaction to incoming results, with commentary by guests including Charlamagne Tha God, and hosts Alex Wagner, John Heilemann, and Mark McKinnon of the network's The Circus. Which is probably what Tuesday night will be. —Gerrad Hall
