Watch Tom Hiddleston address Loki's potential ability to bring Tony Stark back from the dead

"Time-slipping technically gives Loki some interesting moves he can make."

Forget time-slipping — Tom Hiddleston has officially mastered the ability of not letting any Marvel secrets slip.

While visiting The Tonight Show on Friday, the Loki star was quizzed on several popular fan theories about how the Disney+ series' season 2 finale will affect the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe moving forward. Naturally, he artfully dodged as many questions as possible, but one answer may provide a glimmer of hope for fans who wish to see Robert Downey Jr. return to the franchise.

Host Jimmy Fallon asked, "Since Loki knows how to time-slip now, can he go find someone like Tony Stark, a.k.a Iron Man?"

Loki began to experience time-slipping — which forcibly dragged him from one point in time to another — at the beginning of season 2. By the finale, the beloved trickster was able to control time at will, traveling to specific dates and locations and interacting with his pals Mobius (Owen Wilson), Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino), and OB (Ke Huy Quan).

"This guy. This is investigative journalism right here!" Hiddleston proclaimed, making finger guns at Fallon. "I mean… time-slipping technically gives Loki some interesting moves he can make."

The actor then gave the camera a cheeky grin before letting out a nervous laugh. "I suppose, yeah, he can move from past, present, future," he admitted as Fallon grew progressively more excited about the potential revelation. "I know that I can time-slip. I don't know that other characters can time-slip."

Hiddleston became more hesitant when addressing if the dead ever truly stay dead within the Marvel universe, which has famously brought back multiple characters after they supposedly bit the dust in its comics.

"Speaking for myself, Loki's died a few times. I'm still here. I don't know that death is necessarily… I mean death is — death is up for grabs, as an existential question!" he exclaimed as Fallon collapsed onto his desk in shock over the cliffhanger. "That's all I can give you!"

Loki's new skill allows him to do more than possibly bring back Tony Stark, Pietro Maximoff (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), or Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) from another timeline. The series' fifth episode revealed that Loki can transport people with him throughout time and across timelines, which could also technically pave the way for a chance for him to also bring back Steve Rogers (Chris Evans).

When it comes to Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman's upcoming reunion in Deadpool 3, however, Hiddleston wasn't able to provide further insight. "I mean, I know they're making Deadpool 3," he said. "It's a very good question, and I'm thinking of all the answers I can give it." Ultimately, he ended up distancing himself from the topic by making a reference to Reynolds' soccer team, Wrexham A.F.C., instead.

He did have a very sweet response when asked if there is any connection between his show and The Marvels, though. "My other half is in The Marvels," he said, "and I'm very proud of her." The actor's fiancée, Zawe Ashton, plays the villainous Dar-Benn in the film, which also stars Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, and Iman Vellani.
