HOW/WHEN & WHERE TO WATCH: Streaming on CBS All Access

Series Debut
Stephen King’s epic tale of good vs. evil in the wake of a global pandemic gets a new limited series adaptation from CBS All Access. The nine-episode series stars Whoopi Goldberg as the angelic Mother Abagail and Alexander Skarsgard as the demonic Randall Flagg, leading a sprawling ensemble cast that includes James Marsden, Amber Heard, Greg Kinnear, Owen Teague, Ezra Miller, Heather Graham, and many others. Fans of King’s 1978 classic novel are sure to find plenty to debate here, as the adaptation uses a different narrative structure than the book (and the previous 1994 miniseries adaptation), in addition to taking more expected liberties to update the tale for 2020. But critics seems to agree that the propulsion of King’s underlying story still, uh, stands. —James Hibberd

HOW/WHEN & WHERE TO WATCH: Streaming on HBO Max

Season Finale
All of Cassie Bowden’s (Kaley Cuoco) truly terrible decisions have led her to this moment: confronting Alex’s killer in Rome in the series finale of The Flight Attendant. Or, if Cuoco, who executive produced the darkly comedic thriller, gets her wish, it’ll be a season finale. “I hope it doesn’t sound too cocky, but we have always had a vision for a season 2,” Cuoco told EW back in October. “We have had a very clear path for what a season 2 would look like and we know exactly what it’ll look like, and we hope we’ll get the opportunity to do that.” But don’t worry, we’ve seen the season finale, written by co-showrunner Steve Yockey, and can assure you that it is a satisfying ending if HBO Max doesn’t order another batch of episodes. —Chancellor Agard

Station 19

HOW/WHEN & WHERE TO WATCH: 8 p.m. on ABC

Sullivan (Boris Kodjoe) is back to work at Station 19 after that big Hail Mary moment in last week’s episode, but what does that mean for him and his wife Andy (Jaina Lee Ortiz)? The former station captain is working as a grunt again, part of his punishment for stealing drugs from Ben’s (Jason George) PRT vehicle in season 3. Will he and Andy be able to stay apart romantically for the remainder of their separation while working under the same roof? As always, Station 19 is coming through with more questions than answers. Another pair to keep your eyes on is Jack (Grey Damon) and Inara (Colleen Foy), who are sharing an apartment with her son Marcus after Marsha (Jayne Taini) was diagnosed with COVID-19. There’s no doubt the duo have a bond, but Inara can’t hide she’s caught feelings — and Jack’s definitely interested! And if anyone’s left wanting more hot love connections, Dean (Okieriete Onaodowan) has finally come to terms with the fact that he misses Vic (Barrett Doss) and has invited her over to his house to visit with his daughter. But things can get messy if he decides to profess his secret affections for her as she’s been flirting with a cute firefighter (Carlos Miranda) after they kept bumping into each other at their local running spot. Hurry up, Dean! Or you’ll be destined to sit along the sidelines with your regrets forever. —Rosy Cordero
