Watch The Thrilling New Jurassic World Short Film, 'Battle At Big Rock'

Jurassic World 3 won't be released until 2021, but now fans have some dinosaur goodness to enjoy while they wait for the full film to come out.

On Sunday night, FX premiered the movie and the Jurassic World social media accounts shared the short, 8-minute film called Battle At Big Rock.

The short is directed by Colin Trevorrow, who also directed Jurassic World and co-wrote Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Trevorrow says that Battle At Big Rock takes place after the events of 2018's Fallen Kingdom:

"It’s about a family on a camping trip to Big Rock National Park, about 20 miles from where [Fallen Kingdom] ended. There have been a few sightings, but this is the first major confrontation between dinosaurs and humans."

There are also two new dinosaurs in the short: a Nasutoceratops and a grown-up Allosaurus. André Holland and Natalie Martinez star in the film.

Trevorrow talked about the process of filming the short:

"The cast was fully committed to making 8 minutes that could stand alongside the movies. We were a family and we believed in what we were doing. It felt like an indie film, but with a massive animatronic."
