"Things happen live!" Hall exclaimed after losing the piece at the top of the show.
Tamron Hall's wedding ring unexpectedly divorced her finger, flying off into the studio audience on live TV on Wednesday.
As the 53-year-old, Emmy-winning journalist and talk-show host made her way to the stage for the latest Tamron Hall Show broadcast, a brief shot showed the ring slipping off her finger and rolling out of frame across the floor of the set.
Hall played it off in the moment, but she addressed the crowd once they finished applauding the show's opening.
"It's so crazy. We're live, I just walked out, and my wedding ring flew off somewhere around here," she said, searching through the first few rows of the audience. "Oh, it's by your shoe! It's a live show. Things happen live."
She then referenced a woman who apparently found the ring and gave it to one of the show's members.
"I love that the lady jumped like, 'Wait a minute, put a ring on it!'" Hall quipped as she reunited with her ring. "That's crazy. As you can see, this is a really live show — a live audience!"
Hall married producer Steven Greener — with whom she shares a child, Moses — in 2019, after meeting him after her departure from NBC's Today in 2017.
"With Steven, it is great to have this guy who is rooting me on, and he was the first person I've ever dated when I haven't been on television," Hall previously told PEOPLE of the couple's relationship.
Tamron Hall airs weekdays in syndication. Check your local listings for showtimes in your area. Watch Hall lose her wedding ring on live TV above.
