There are a lot of gross things about being on Survivor. Whether done on land or at sea, the bathroom situation may top the list. Personal hygiene also takes a major back seat, leading to some funky odor around the camp. And then there is the food.

With such few options for protein, players in the game need to get a bit, shall we say, creative. And that is exactly when Austin Li Coon and his new Belo tribemates did on day 8 of the game in a scene that did not make it to air on Survivor 45.

In this exclusive deleted scene available for viewing above, Austin decides to broaden his culinary horizons with a sea cucumber. Found on the ocean floor, sea cucumbers are often bright and pretty to look at while snorkeling around Fiji, but as food??? Well, it turns out sea cucumbers are indeed edible and are often prepared in Chinese dishes raw, pickled, or fried. But don't tell that to Austin.

"That sea cucumber was disgusting," the player reveals after sampling. "Knowing that it looks like a piece of crap and watching its intestines spill out of it, it's probably the most unappetizing thing I have ever eaten."

Of course, like any great prankster, Austin then tries to convince his tribemates to also eat the creature from the bottom of the sea. "It's not that bad," he lies to them. "It literally just has no flavor. It tastes like a rubber band." Somehow, that halfhearted sales pitch actually works, and you can see how Kendra and Drew react to their latest potential protein source.

Of course, one doesn't watch this video merely to see players eating sea cucumbers; one watches to see Emily Flippen's reaction to players eating sea cucumbers. Will it mirror her reaction to learning that aliens built the pyramids? Give it a watch and find out!
