Watch the Strokes’ New “Ode to the Mets” Video

This afternoon, the New York Mets are playing their first game of the pandemic-shortened 2020 Major League Baseball season. To celebrate, the Strokes have shared a new music video for their song “Ode to the Mets.” The video was written and directed by longtime collaborator Warren Fu, who headed the iconic “You Only Live Once” video. It blends CGI and traditional animation, with different artists in charge of designing “rooms” through which the camera floats through. Watch it below.

“Ode to the Mets,” which was debuted for the first time during the Strokes’ New Year’s Eve show in Brooklyn last year, features on the band’s latest album The New Abnormal. They were scheduled to tour behind that album this year before coronavirus led to the cancellation of all U.S. music tours.
