Watch slowthai Hoist a Fake Boris Johnson Head at Mercury Prize 2019 Performance

Tonight at the 2019 Mercury Prize ceremony, slowthai took to the stage for a performance. During his set the rapper brandished an effigy of Boris Johnson’s decapitated head in the air. “Fuck Boris Johnson!” slowthai shouted, adding: “Fuck everything... there ain’t nothing great about Britain!” Watch it all go down below.

slowthai’s debut album Nothing Great About Britain was nominated for the Mercury Prize this year, but it lost out to South London MC Dave’s LP Psychodrama. Other nominees included the 1975, black midi, Foals, Nao, Little Simz, and more.

slowthai recently added a “Fuck Boris” t-shirt to the merchandise section of his website. The shirt features naked cartoons of the Prime Minister.
