How to Watch Saturday’s March for Our Lives in Washington D.C.
Protesters across the country are taking to the streets Saturday to advocate for more stringent gun control in solidarity with March for Our Lives, a protest taking place in Washington D.C. that’s organized by survivors of last month’s school shooting in Parkland, Florida.
The March 24 protest has some 831 affiliated events taking place in solidarity, but the protest in Washington is the flagship of the movement. There, survivors of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, in which 17 people were killed, will lead the march down Pennsylvania Avenue. The march follows the March 14 national school walkout, in which students all over America walked out of their classrooms to protest for gun safety.
Ariana Grande, Vic Mensa, Jennifer Hudson, Common, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ben Platt, Miley Cyrus Andra Day and Demi Lovato are set to perform at the rally.

If you can’t be in Washington for March for Our Lives, that doesn’t mean you have to miss it. There are a number of options to watch the march live, both on cable TV and streaming online.
In terms of streaming options, the Washington Post is hosting a live streaming show on its website, washingtonpost.com. That coverage will be anchored by on-air video hosts Libby Casey and Hannah Jewell, and will feature interviews with rally goers and speakers, as well as full coverage of speeches and performances taking place at the event. The Washington Post’s coverage runs from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. Eastern (8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Pacific), and will also be broadcast on the Post’s mobile app, its YouTube channel, and its Facebook page.
Also streaming its coverage is USA Today. The newspaper’s coverage starts at 7 a.m. Eastern (10 a.m. Pacific) and is available on its website.
CBS News plans to live-stream coverage of the event, watchable here, starting at noon Eastern, 9 a.m. Pacific. It also intends to live-blog the rally, with more coverage information to be posted on its website on Saturday.
For a chance at a more interactive digital experience, viewers should turn to blogging social network Tumblr. The company has partnered with Everytown for Gun Safety, one of the advocacy groups supporting the demonstration, to bring a March For Our Lives takeover to the entire site, Tumblr.com.
“For those who can’t join and aren’t able to make those marches, we’re giving them some of the tools … to be able to express themselves as part of a digital march on Tumblr,” Victoria McCullough, the company’s social impact and public policy lead, told Mashable.

Cable channel C-SPAN is set to broadcast the march in its entirety on Saturday. CNN, MSNBC and Fox News are planning all-day coverage of the event, starting at 6 a.m. Eastern (3 a.m. Pacific) for CNN and 8 a.m. Eastern (5 a.m. Pacific) for MSNBC. MTV News and CBS News will air special reports on the rally Saturday. CBS News will also show a one-hour documentary called “39 Days” at 8 p.m. Eastern. It was created by journalists who have been embedded with Stoneman Douglas students since the shooting.
