Watch ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Alum Courtney Act’s 'Sickening' Acoustic Performances

RuPaul’s Drag Race finalist Courtney Act appeared on the groundbreaking Logo show’s most musical year: singing live, not lip-synching, in the Broadway-themed Shade: The Rusical challenge, and competing alongside American Idol alum Adore Delano (aka Danny Noriega). But many Stateside viewers might not have realized that Courtney also had an Idol past, having competed on the very first season of Australian Idol in 2003. By the time Courtney made it to the U.S. and to Drag Race, she was already a veteran entertainer, and her experience and polish helped her get all the way to the Season 6 finale.

However, it’s only now that Courtney is releasing her first full EP, Kaleidoscope, out July 7. Featuring co-writes by Sam Sparro and Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears and boasting a Kylie/Madonna/Robyn-esque electropop sound, it’s a credible release that will surely take Courtney’s career to the next level.

Yahoo Music’s Reality Rocks was honored when Courtney gave her first-ever acoustic performances (and first performances of any kind of “Kaleidoscope” and “Ugly”) at Yahoo HQ. Afterwards, she sat down to discuss her colorful career, from Idol to Drag Race to Kaleidoscope and everything in between.

It was all very entertaining. If you don’t love Courtney Act, how in the hell are you gonna love anyone else, can I get an amen? Watch now.
