Watch: Robbie Amell, Stephen Amell return in sci-fi thriller 'Code 8 Part II'

Feb. 2 (UPI) -- Netflix is teasing the new film Code 8 Part II.

The streaming service shared a trailer for the sci-fi thriller Friday featuring actors and cousins Robbie Amell and Stephen Amell.

Code 8 Part II is a sequel to the 2019 film Code 8, which takes place in a world where people with powers, or superhuman abilities, are marginalized and required to register with the government.

Robbie Amell and Stephen Amell return as former criminal associates Connor Reed and Garrett Kelton in the sequel.

The trailer shows Connor (Robbie Amell) try to protect a teenage girl, while Garrett (Stephen Amell) makes a deal with Sergeant Kingston (Alex Mallari Jr.), a corrupt cop.

"Connor's attempt at staying out of trouble is destroyed when he's forced to help 14-year-old Pav (Sirena Gulamgaus) escape from a pack of corrupt officers lead by Sergeant King (Mallari). King uses the newly launched robotic K9s to track Pav down, while Connor finds himself reaching out to Garrett and his crew for help," an official synopsis reads.

Code 8 Part II is directed by Jeff Chan. The film premieres Feb. 28 on Netflix.
