Watch Rita Wilson Reenact Her Cheerleading Routine From ‘The Brady Bunch’

In 1972, before Rita Wilson was a full-fledged A-lister, she guest-starred as a cheerleader named Pat Conway on The Brady Bunch. When The Insider With Yahoo caught up with the 59-year-old actress and singer to talk about her self-titled sophomore album, she took a little stroll down memory lane, reciting the whole cheer while watching the flashback footage.

"I got my Screen Actors Guild card because of doing that. So it sort of began … everything!“ she said. "If I hadn’t of done that, I wouldn’t have become an actor.” And she might not have met her husband, Tom Hanks.

In March, the Oscar winner told People that the first time Hanks ever laid eyes on his future wife was when he watched her episode of The Brady Bunch. “I was actually at a friend of mine’s house when it aired, and I remember thinking ‘that girl’s cute,’” he said.

The two married years later in 1988 and after 28 years of marriage, Wilson’s still gushing over her man.

Check out the video to hear what she had to say about Hanks, and tune in to The Insider With Yahoo on TV Friday evening for the full interview.

Rita’s on tour now with a headlining show at The Troubadour in West Hollywood, Calif., June 15. She opens for Chicago beginning June 18.
