One of the best movies of the past year, Oscars frontrunner Poor Things has finally danced its way to your home theater screens, just in time for the upcoming Academy Awards. With 11 nods, including Best Picture and nominations for the film’s star, Emma Stone, fans can now stream the Yorgos Lanthimos-directed comedy online on Prime Video and Hulu.
Based on the bestselling 1992 novel by writer Alasdair Gray, Poor Things takes viewers back in time to Victorian-era London. Nominated for Best Actress at the upcoming Oscars (streaming March 10 online), Stone stars as Bella Baxter, a pregnant woman who, after jumping off a bridge, gets a new start at life at the experimental — and questionable — surgical hands of Dr. Godwin Baxter (or, “God,” as Bella calls him), played by Willem Dafoe.
