Jeanette Paras has been painting massive celebrity-inspired pumpkins for the past 35 years

“August” is over and the leaves are turning “Red,” so Halloween must be just around the corner.

For the past 35 years, Jeanette Paras has painted massive pumpkins with the likeness of pop culture figures like Donald Trump and Baby Yoda. This year, the Ohio-based artist painted a 399-pound pumpkin to look like Taylor Swift.

In a video posted to Instagram, Paras unveils the massive pumpkin featuring Swift’s face painted across the side. The nearly 400 lb. behemoth rests on Paras’s front porch through the spooky season.

The pumpkin has been draped in wigs to replicate the singer’s hairline while large painted sweet potatoes act as her ears. The giant gourd also has big dangly earrings to match the picture of Swift at the 2023 Grammy Awards Paras used as inspiration.

In a nod to the singer's romance with Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce, Paras placed a red bucket with his number, 87, on one side to hold a pumpkin that is painted to look like a football.

“With so much going on in the news today, much of it disturbing, Taylor SwiftKin stood out. I considered ‘pumpkinizing’ others, but Taylor is a bright star in today’s pop culture,” Paras told WCMH, an affiliate of NBC, of her inspiration for this year. “And then, when she was romantically linked to two-time Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce, that certainly made her more interesting.”

In another video Paras shared on her Instagram page, the pumpkin Picasso shows the process, “[squeezing] more than 10 hours of painting into just 58 seconds.

Paras, who is a two-time breast cancer survivor, paints the pumpkins yearly to fundraise for the fight against the disease. This year, she partnered with the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research at Ohio State University’s Comprehensive Cancer Center.

In years past, Paras has created pumpkins inspired by a variety of celebrities and figures including Kanye West, Pump-Kim Jong Un, Lady Gaga and Barack Obama. Her website reads, “Everyone in politics – and in public life, for that matter – is fair game. Jeanette’s creations are non-partisan.”

Usually these massive painted gourds make an appearance outside of her home in Dublin, Ohio, but she’s also painted masterpieces that have found a home at the Ohio’s governor’s mansion.

“As I like to say, I don’t make the news, I pumpkinize it,” Paras told WCMH.
