NFL on CBS was home to Sunday football action every week throughout the NFL regular season, but the fun continues as the NFL playoffs begin. In fact, the NFL on CBS will keep things rolling from now until the Super Bowl, as the network is going to be this year's broadcast home for the big game.

CBS is just one of the networks that covers the NFL, with NFL on Fox, NBC's Sunday Night Football, ESPN's Monday Night Football and Prime Video's Thursday Night Football carrying games.

Here is everything that you need to know about how to watch the NFL on CBS.

How to watch the NFL on CBS

CBS is one of the four major US TV networks and as such it is required to be carried on all traditional pay-TV cable subscription packages, meaning if you still pay for cable TV, then you automatically have access to your local CBS station. Local CBS stations can also be received for free by those who use a TV antenna.

If you’ve cut the cord on traditional pay-TV services and have opted for a live TV streaming service, most of them include CBS as part of their standard channel lineup, like Fubo, Hulu with Live TV, YouTube TV and DirecTV Stream.

There is also a pure streaming option for watching NFL on CBS games — Paramount Plus. US subscribers can watch the NFL on Paramount Plus. The ad-free version of the streaming service allows for live streaming of local CBS stations, as does the ad-supported, but only for sporting events like NFL games on CBS.

Another option to stream your local CBS game is to sign up for NFL Plus. This new streaming service provides live streams of games available in your area, but only through your mobile phone or tablet.

If UK football fans are wondering where they can watch NFL games — since they don’t have CBS or the other US networks — they do have a couple of options. NFL games are shown in the UK on ITV, Sky TV and the NFL Game Pass subscription service.

NFL on CBS Wild Card weekend schedule

The NFL on CBS is going to air just one game during Wild Card weekend, the Pittsburgh Steelers vs Buffalo Bills game on Monday, January 15, at 4:30 pm ET/1:30 pm PT. The game had previously been scheduled for Sunday, January 14, but was moved because of a snow storm that is scheduled to impact Buffalo.

Both the Steelers and Bills earned their spot in the NFL playoffs in the last week of the regular season, but the feeling around each team is incredibly different.

The Steelers finished with a record of 10-7, but they were known to be able to scrounge up wins; in fact, only one of their 10 wins was by more than one possession. They did finish the year out on a three-game win streak, which coincided with Mason Rudolph coming to play quarterback, a role he will keep for the playoffs. However, the Steelers are going to be without their best player on the defensive side, as pass rusher TJ Watt will miss the game due to a knee injury he suffered in week 18.

The Bills also ended their season on a long winning streak, being victorious in their final five games, which allowed them to win the AFC East and earn the No. 2 seed in the conference. The Bills offense, led by Josh Allen and featuring key weapons in Stefon Diggs and James Cook, is always dangerous, but can also be prone to turnovers from time to time. The biggest surprise of the Bills season is how their defense has been able to rally and play well despite a multitude of injuries to key players. That continues in the playoffs, with safety Taylor Rapp already ruled out and a few other players questionable; on the offense, receiver Gabe Davis is also ruled out.
