A loud banging sound interrupted the ladies during a discussion about abortion: "That was my last egg," Whoopi Goldberg said.

The View is so back in 2024 — and it brought its signature brand of phantom with it at the top of the new year.

Following 2023's cacophony of aural demons that plagued the long-running talk show — including, but not limited to, a raspberry noise amid a mysterious water spillage, a backstage noise-maker (likely Taraji P. Henson), and Joy Behar's SiriThe View kicked off its second episode of the year with a loud crashing noise that interrupted the live broadcast and startled the cohosts on air.

"Welcome to The View, y'all. So, yesterday, a federal court ruled that the Biden administration can not use a 1986 emergency care law that would require Texas hospitals to provide abortions for women whose lives are at risk due to pregnancy. So, they're okay with forced childbirth — even if it kills someone, because they're so pro life. What about all of that?" Whoopi Goldberg said, just before a metallic crashing sound forced her to look off-camera as several of her fellow panelists let out cries of excitement.

"Speaking of pro-life, we just lost someone. Sorry, that was dark," Alyssa Farah Griffin said, pointing toward the audience, where the noise seemingly emanated from.

Goldberg brought the noise back to the Hot Topic at hand, quipping that it was her "last egg" that "just fell."

In fitting fashion, nearly one year after Goldberg explained that the show introduced coasters under the cohosts' mugs to combat squeaking sounds audience members confused with "dropping gas," Goldberg hiccuped as she threw the show to commercial.

EW has reached out to The View for more information on the cause of show's first mysterious phantom noise of the year.

The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET on ABC. Watch the noise interrupt the live broadcast above.
