Watch Birdman Apologize to Lil Wayne at Lil Weezyana Fest 2018

Nicki Minaj also appeared at his Tha Carter III 10th anniversary celebration

Tonight, Lil Wayne’s 4th annual Lil Weezyana Fest took place at Champions Square in New Orleans. This year, the one-day festival celebrated the 10th anniversary of Tha Carter III. During his headlining set, Wayne ran through tracks from all his Tha Carter albums. He also invited many guests to the stage, including Jeezy, Nicki Minaj, and Birdman. Birdman took the opportunity to officially squash his longtime beef with Wayne. “I wanted to apologize,” he said. Watch it happen below.

Lil Wayne and Birdman have been publicly feuding on-and-off since December 2014 surrounding the release of Wayne’s Tha Carter V. Their fallouts involved multiple lawsuits, shootings, diss tracks, temporary make-ups, and even a possible retirement from Wayne. They recently settled two long-running lawsuits that reportedly frees Wayne to finally release the long-awaited follow up to 2011’s Tha Carter IV.

Lil Weezyana Fest also featured performances from Tory Lanez, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, New Orleans rappers like Fila Phil, and many others. In June, Chance the Rapper, Lil Uzi Vert, and more honored Tha Carter III’s 10-year anniversary by recreating its iconic cover.

Earlier this year, Wayne released the new mixtape, Dedication 6: Reloaded. He also jumped on Nicki’s Queen track “Rich Sex”. Read “Lil Wayne’s Long Road to Tha Carter V” on the Pitch.
