Watch Kings Island transform from Halloween Haunt to Winterfest in this epic time-lapse

Kings Island has transformed from scary to merry, as it moves from Halloween Haunt season to Winterfest.

After spooking visitors from Sept. 22 through Oct. 28, the amusement park immediately got to work, spending three-and-a-half-weeks installing a 240-by-78-foot ice skating rink on the Royal Fountain and using 30,000 gallons of water to create the icy surface.

The installation was completed Nov. 16 and will start bringing holiday joy to visitors the day after Thanksgiving. Kings Island's Winterfest will also feature millions of twinkling lights, a nightly Wonderland Parade and live entertainment. Twenty rides – including Mystic Timbers – will also be open.

Check out the park's transformation in the video above.
