Luke Bryan knows how to show Katy Perry and Lionel Richie a good time.

In a clip from Sunday's episode of American Idol, debuting exclusively with PEOPLE on Friday, Bryan, 47, gives his fellow judges a tour of his dad's peanut farm in Leesburg, Georgia. During their visit, Perry, 39, and Richie, 74, experience a bit of a culture shock.

"I was very proud to be able to take Lionel and Katy to our mill there in Leesburg where I grew up," the "Play It Again" singer, who worked on his father's peanut farm in his early 20s, says in an interview clip.

After driving in in Bryan's pickup truck, Perry and Richie hop in one of the tractors and she takes the wheel as they drive up to a "peanut elevator." Stepping off the tractor, Perry loses her balance and nearly falls to the ground.

Then, Richie and Perry are introduced to Bryan's dad, Tommy Bryan, who tells Richie his role is the "dump man."

"There's gotta be a better title than that," he says as his fellow judges laugh at him. "I'm the peanut dump man."

As thousands of peanuts are dumped out of a machine, the "Teenage Dream" singer screams in terror. Once the machine is done unloading, she lays in the piles of peanuts for a hilarious photo-op.

"Ya'll know what that smells like, right? Smells like money — let's go," Bryan says before putting his arms around both judges as they walk out.

Last week, PEOPLE caught up with Perry to discuss her hometown trip to Santa Barbara, California — where she had Richie and Bryan play pickleball and drink green juice.

"The best part of bringing Idol to Santa Barbara was being able to share my roots," Perry said. "From busking at farmers markets for avocados and mangos on the guitar our family friend Patricia Bragg gifted me, to seeing my opera teacher — the sweetest surprise — when we did auditions at Music Academy of the West."

She also loved showing Bryan and Richie "how those times made me the person I am today."

For Perry, spending time at home means leaving the "hustle and bustle" of Los Angeles behind and turning into a "bike-riding, grocery-shopping, family-Sunday-brunching Katy."

During a recent interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the "Roar" singer announced her exit from the show as she teased she has more projects, including new music, to come later in 2024.
