Jon Batiste and Gary Clark Jr. teamed up for a joint tribute Sunday night at the 60th Annual Grammys, performing in homage to two early rock legends, Fats Domino and Chuck Berry, both of whom died in 2017.

Batiste was up first, to take lead on Domino’s ’50s classic “Ain’t That a Shame.” The Late Show With Stephen Colbert bandleader gave a strong performance of the blues-rock jam, going particularly nuts on the piano in an extended jam at the song’s end.

Clark then took the mic for Berry’s early rock standard “Maybellene.” performing a roaring version of the song. He didn’t attempt the duck walk, but he did Berry proud with a particularly ripping solo at song’s end.
