John Legend performed at President Joe Biden’s Celebrating America inauguration event tonight (January 20). Legend played a grand piano situated near the Lincoln Memorial, where he sang a rendition of “Feeling Good”—a song made famous by Nina Simone in the 1960s. Watch it happen below.

Earlier today, Lady Gaga sang the National Anthem before the official swearing-in ceremony, Jennifer Lopez sang “This Land Is Your Land,” and Garth Brooks sang “Amazing Grace.” Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters, Justin Timberlake and Ant Clemons, New Radicals, Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, and others have performed in Biden and Harris’ honor today.

Legend’s most recent studio album Bigger Love was released last summer. He previously made an appearance as part of the DNC’s virtual convention last year.
