Watch Joey Badass Cover Prince’s “When Doves Cry”
Joey Badass covered Prince’s 1984 hit single “When Doves Cry” for Australian radio station triple j’s “Like a Version” series. He called his version of the track “When Thugs Cry,” and it featured new original verses to accompany Prince’s iconic chorus. Watch it go down below. Last year, Joey released his new album All-Amerikkkan Bada$$. Shortly thereafter, he dropped three new songs, Love Is Only a Feeling,” “Too Lit,” and “500 Benz,” all of which were produced by Statik Selektah. More recently, he shared a previously unreleased 2013 recording that he made with Kirk Knight called “Gazzliona.”
