Watch Joe Alwyn Answer One Taylor Swift Question, Then Immediately Leave an Interview

Joe Alwyn, the British actor Taylor Swift has quietly dating for over a year, has made a point in all his interviews for The Favourite to stress, whenever asked about his relationship with Swift, how much he'd prefer to keep it private.

To British Vogue, he said: “I’m aware people want to know about that side of things [how he and Swift are doing]. I think we have been successfully very private and that has now sunk in for people…but I really prefer to talk about work.”

To British GQ, he said (via Entertainment Tonight), "Someone's private life is by definition private. No one is obliged to share their personal life."

So he really doesn't want to talk about her. But at the UK red carpet premiere for The Favourite, one reporter dared to ask him what he thought about Swift's political Instagrams. He did respond briefly while backing away: "I think it's great, I think it's important." He kept a smile on throughout his response but immediately stepped over onto the next reporter as soon as he finished. Maybe time was tight, and he needed to move on. Or maybe he didn't want to stay in an interview where he was going to be asked any more questions about his American girlfriend and her personal politics.
