How to Watch Janelle Monáe's 'Dirty Computer' Emotion Picture Starring Tessa Thompson

Set in the near future against a backdrop of equal parts love and danger, Janelle Monáe's upcoming emotion picture is sure to raise the bar when it comes to other artists' visual approaches.

"Overall, I wanted to reflect what’s happening in the streets right now, and what might happen tomorrow if we don't band together and fight for love," Monáe told Billboard of the 44-minute visual (not a short film) Friday. The Tessa Thompson–starring Dirty Computer will premiere across multiple networks April 26, one day ahead of the release of the new album of the same name.

For TV-havers, the visual can be seen on MTV, BET, and other related channels (i.e. MTV2, BET Jams, etc.) However, if you're fortunate and/or cool enough to reside in New York City, you can actually catch Dirty Computer much sooner. Monáe will be in the house for a special screening and Q&A session April 23. You can RSVP here for a chance to attend while taking comfort in the fact that it’s totally free. For Los Angeles fans, Monáe is hosting a similar Dirty Computer screening April 27.

Until then, just follow my lead and keep spinning the previously released Dirty Computer tracks. "PYNK," "Django Jane," "I Like That," and "Make Me Feel" are your options.
