Watch the Hulk Hogan Sex Tape Trial Against Gawker (Livestream)

Are you ready to rumble? The $100 million Hulk Hogan sex tape lawsuit against Gawker Media goes to trial today, and you can watch for free here — no Pay-Per-View required.

The case pits Hogan (real name Terry Bollea) against a news and gossip empire that in 2013 posted a video of the WWE icon having sex with the wife of his friend, Tampa radio shock host Bubba the Love Sponge Clem. Gawker notes that the clip was highly edited, and included a narrative about what it was like to see the video.

Hogan accuses the company of violating his privacy. Gawker says the clip is newsworthy and protected by the First Amendment. The stakes could not be higher for the media company, which has settled previous suits, or gotten them dismissed.

As the New York Times reported last year:

People at Gawker tend to talk about “the Hogan case” in apocalyptic terms, suggesting that it could very well bring down Mr. Denton’s entire empire. Of course, hyperbole is baked into the company’s identity. The goal has always been to draw notice, which means framing everything in the most extreme manner possible. Even when the subject is the future of Gawker.

Gawker isn’t exactly shying away from the publicity around the case — it is also livestreaming the trial.
