Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani — a perpetual favorite married couple in the country and pop ranks — have once again teamed up for "Purple Irises," a danceable pop track.

"'Purple Irises' arose from the concept of 'planting hope and watching love grow,'" says Stefani. "Weathering all the different seasons of growth. We are in this together, we planted the seeds together and we are growing together."

The tandem has previously shared the mic on the 2020-released Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart-topping and platinum-selling hits "Nobody But You" and "Happy Anywhere," plus a take on The Judds' "Love Is Alive" for their recent commemorative collection of cover songs.

"We love this song so much," said Shelton. "It's a song Gwen wrote with a couple of friends of hers, and I fell in love with it the first time I heard it. She knew there was something different about it and asked me to come in and sing with her. My longtime producer, Scott Hendricks, produced it, and Gwen's been wanting to work with him for a long time now, and it's turned into this really cool and different song that can live anywhere."

Among many songs, Stefani will duet on "Purple Irises" with Shelton on Feb. 11 during a performance at Super Bowl 58's TikTok Tailgate before the matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs in Las Vegas.

Stefani has not slowed her output since her return from a decade-long album hiatus in 2016.

Recent offerings such as 2023's "True Babe" and the Saweetie-featured "Slow Clap" join iTunes No. 1 "Let Me Reintroduce Myself" have been a large part of her reinvigorated staying power and appeal.

The three-time Grammy winner has sold more than 60 million units worldwide and previously spent seven seasons as a coach on the Emmy-winning NBC series The Voice.

In 2024, she will reunite with No Doubt, the band she fronted throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Stefani will join forces with original members Tony Kanal, Adrian Young, and Tom Dumont for a one-off performance together at Coachella 2024 after a decade of on-again/off-again rumors of concert tours and new material.

"It just happened so fast, and that's my favorite kind of thing to happen. We haven't really figured out the next steps of how we're going to do this, but we're just all so excited," Stefani told People magazine. "And I think really just watching the internet blow up [with] how excited that the fans are? It's inspiring us."
