Watch Gorillaz’s First Ever Live Animated Interview

Murdoc Niccals and 2D are chatting with BBC Radio 1’s MistaJam and answering fan questions

By Michelle Kim.

As promised, Gorillaz’s Murdoc Niccals and 2D are giving their first-ever live, on-camera interview. Below, watch them chat with BBC Radio 1’s MistaJam and answer questions from fans, who’ve had a couple of days to submit their queries to the cartoon bassist and vocalist. The interview is hosted on Telekom Electronic Beats’ YouTube page. The band has also linked up with the company for a new augmented reality app (called the Lenz) that reveals hidden content when you point your smartphone camera at the color magenta.

Gorillaz’s new LP Humanz arrives April 28. Ahead of its release, Gorillaz have already performed the album live, and shared songs with D.R.A.M., Pusha T, and Mavis Staples, Benjamin Clementine, Popcaan, and others. The week of the album release, Gorillaz and Sonos are hosting pop-up immersive experiences around the globe in which fans can visit the band’s “spirit house.”
