It's that time of year again: WWE's Survivor Series is just around the corner!

For the WWE Universe, autumn means prioritizing two events on their calendars: Thanksgiving and Survivor Series, although not necessarily in that order! It's time to whet your appetite for the heartstopping WWE action. In that spirit, here's everything fans need to know about Survivor Series 2023.

WWE Survivor Series 2023 will take place on Saturday, November 25, live from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois. Chicago has been the home of many classic WWE events, most recently hosting the 2019 edition of Survivor Series, which featured the main event of Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch, SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley, and NXT Women's Champion Shayna Baszler competing in a Triple Threat match that tore the house down.

Every wrestling fan knows that Chicago is the hometown of someone near and dear to the WWE Universe. The city of Chicago and this wrestler are synonymous with each other, and you can't think of the Windy City without also thinking of this iconic wrestler:

Seth "Freakin" Rollins!

A Chicagoan through and through, the current World Heavyweight Champion has gone on the record several times, confessing that Chicago is his favorite place to perform. An avid Chicago Bears fan, Rollins won't have to worry about his schedule conflicting with his favorite NFL team this year – the Bears play on Monday Night Football during Survivor Series weekend, leaving Rollins to focus on the task at hand (but more on that later).

Historically, Survivor Series has been the home to countless classic matches. In fact, many fans and wrestling historians surmise that the annual event is low-key the second-biggest show in WWE's eyes – which would explain why some of the hottest storylines and all-time great moments have happened at Survivor Series! For example, the Triple Threat match between John Cena, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels for the WWE Championship in 2009 shows just how much WWE Superstar rose to the occasion at Survivor Series:

(Fifteen years later, we're still shocked at how the first few seconds of the match started!)

Although the event originally featured five-on-five elimination tag team matches up and down the card, WWE broke from tradition in recent years and has elected to feature WarGames at Survivor Series, a chaotic double-steel cage clash featuring teammates entering the cage at timed intervals. WarGames is the brainchild of the late Dusty Rhodes, who originally created the match concept for the NWA in the 1980s. In today's WWE, WarGames isn't only welcomed by the WWE Universe, but given the heated rivalries across Raw and SmackDown recently, it's necessary.

On the November 6 episode of Monday Night Raw, General Manager Adam Pearce was sick and tired of the constant brawling between The Judgment Day and Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, and Jey Uso. Left with no recourse, Pearce did what any of the WWE Universe would do: He decided the warring factions would settle things inside WarGames at Survivor Series!

On November 25, all eight Superstars will be locked inside the double steel cage to settle the score once and for all. The Judgment Day has run rampant on Monday Night Raw for years now – will their reign of terror end at Survivor Series? With the Road to WrestleMania looming in the not-so-distant future, whoever survives WarGames will have all the momentum they need to punch their ticket to the Grandest Stage of Them All. The WWE Universe knows that WarGames matches always deliver, and we're expecting an all-time classic in Chicago at Survivor Series!

Crown Jewel saw Rhea Ripley successfully defend her Women's World Championship against four other Superstars, but one Superstar arguably stole the show during the title defense – Zoey Stark. Granted, we're unabashed Zoey Stark fans these days,, but regardless of our thoughts on Zoey, we're glad to see her in a prominent match at Survivor Series. While Rhea Ripley has had a stranglehold on her title since WrestleMania when she memorably steamrolled Charlotte Flair (just like she promised), Zoey arguably poses the biggest threat to Rhea's run in months.

After being a featured player in the classic Trish Stratus/Becky Lynch rivalry over the summer, Zoey Stark is ready to elevate her game! The Women's World Championship will be on the line on November 25 – no matter who walks away with the title, the true winner will be the WWE Universe.

You can tune in to Peacock to watch WWE's Survivor Series on November 25. In the meantime, catch up on all things WWE Universe on Peacock.
