Watch the Hamilton casts have a Fosse dance-off

The official @HamitonMusical Twitter account has declared war — with an extra special weapon: Fosse’s famed dance moves.

Tonight marks the premiere of FX TV series Fosse/Verdon, detailing the rocky, romantic relationship between iconic Broadway director-choreographer Bob Fosse (Sam Rockwell) and his wife Gwen Verdon (Michelle Williams).

Not only is Hamilton creator and the original Alexander Hamilton himself, Lin-Manuel Miranda, the executive producer of the small-screen project, but Hamilton director Thomas Kail, choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler, and music producer/orchestrator Alex Lacamoire have continued in their roles on Miranda’s latest project.

To celebrate the show’s debut, the five Hamilton casts scattered around the world are throwing down in a Fosse dance-off to the Broadway classic “Big Spender” from the musical Sweet Charity. Fosse, who is credited as its “Director” and “Choreographer” in the show’s original 1966 Playbill, took the comedy-drama from stage to screen in 1969.

So far, Hamilton‘s West End London, New York, Chicago, Angelica National Tour, and Philip National Tour companies have been showing off their best Fosse moves, from his signature “crescent jumps” and “broken doll walks” to simple snaps and, of course, jazz hands. Even better still, each video features the cast at their silliest, complete with crude home video-style editing and full costumes.

Catch Fosse/Verdon when it premieres tonight at 10 p.m. ET.
