Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts may need to put the team on his back if he's going to have a shot at the playoffs this season, and a new training video proves he just might have the raw strength to do it.

The brief training clip shows Hurts in the gym (which some Eagle-eyed fans pointed out is almost certainly the home gym of Eagles' offensive lineman Lane Johnson) pulling an impressive 620 pounds for one rep. Assuming, that is, the number captioning the bottom of the video is accurate.

Strength alone, however, wasn’t enough to impress many of the commenters. “Would be awesome if he played RB or TE,” one person responded. “Show him making a good read and delivering the ball on time in a tight window.”

To that end, Hurts has been working hard in the offseason to rediscover his chemistry with his former college teammate, wide receiver and Heisman Trophy winner Devonta Smith, whom the Eagles drafted with the number 10 pick in the 2020 draft. (So far, the signs appear to be promising.)

Expectations, to put it mildly, are high for Hurts going into next season, with fans hopeful that he can fulfill his potential as a true double-threat QB with the ability to pass while also racking up major rushing yardage on the ground.

Hurts, to his credit, seems to be taking all of the pressure in stride, releasing a hype video last week that included several of his flashiest career highlights to date. “Hustlers don’t stop," he wrote, "they keep goin'."
