Coldplay took the stage at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Tuesday to launch their North American tour. During the show, frontman Chris Martin paused for a moment to pay tribute to Linkin Park’s late frontman Chester Bennington. After a false start, he performed a stripped down version of “Crawling” (off their 2000 debut album Hybrid Theory) at the piano. Watch below. In the wake of Bennington’s death, several artists shared their condolences, including Pharrell, the Mountain Goats’ John Darnielle, and Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong. Linkin Park posted an open letter addressed to Bennington, saying their “hearts are broken.”
