The NFL, and particularly the Chiefs, have enjoyed a high-publicity season so far thanks to the rumored budding romance between tight end Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, who has attended two of the Chiefs most recent games. Last weekend’s game between the Chiefs and the New York Jets averaged approximately 27 million viewers, making it the most-watched Sunday show since Super Bowl LVII on Fox in February.

It’s not clear if Swift plans on attending Sunday’s game, but the Eagles’ Darius Slay has voiced that he would prefer the Grammy-winning artist sit out his team’s match-up against the Chiefs in Week 11. During a recent episode of his “Big Play Slay” podcast, the Pro Bowl corner explained why he doesn’t want Swift at the game.

“Taylor Swift, she might not miss a game this year and it looks like [they’re] 2-0 with her,” Slay said. “If we play her, when we play her, I know we play them (on the road), Taylor, do not come to the game. Do not come to the game because you seem like you bring the energy of winning. So, do not come to that game.”

Swift’s recent association with the Chiefs has caused more than just a rise in ticket sales — after her appearance at last week’s game against The Bears, sales for Kelce’s No. 87 jersey spiked by nearly 400%.

In addition to DirecTV, cable-cutters can also stream the NFL on ESPN+, Hulu + Live TV and Sling TV.
