One minute you're among the crowd at a Taylor Swift concert at Lincoln Financial Field and the next you are opening for her Eras Tour on three continents. That's been the progression the past two years for Bucks County native Sabrina Carpenter.

The Quakertown native and former teen star of Disney Channel's "Girl Meets World" will be a little closer to home when she is the musical guest on the season finale of “Saturday Night Live,” 11:30 p.m. May 18 on NBC10. Jake Gyllenhaal is hosting.

Carpenter has been keeping very busy. After her stint as the opening act on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in South America, Asia and Australia, the 24-year-old singer and actress performed last month at Coachella in California. During this past NFL season, she was a frequent guest and gal pal of Swift's in a Kansas City Chiefs' luxury box.

Carpenter, who was signed to a record deal 10 years ago, has five albums to her credit, including 2022’s “emails I can’t send,” which featured the single “Feather.” She followed it up with the holiday-themed EP “Fruitcake” in November. Born in Quakertown, her family moved to nearby  East Greenville, Montgomery County, before heading to Los Angeles to pursue her career at 13.

Along with her music career, Carpenter also is an actress who's best-known role was as Maya Hart on "Girl Meets World," which ran from 2014 to 2017.  She has also appeared on “Law & Order: SVU” and the movies “Adventures in Babysitting” (2016 version), “Tall Girl” (2019) and “Work It (2020).”
