Watch Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon Perform With Dead & Company

Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon joined Dead & Company last night at Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wisconsin. Together, they did “Bird Song,” “Friend of the Devil,” and “Black Muddy River.” Watch Vernon shred next to John Mayer below.

Vernon recently performed two sets at Bonnaroo, and he brought out Moses Sumney during one of them to cover Sade’s “By Your Side.” He and the National’s Aaron Dessner also recently launched a new digital platform for an array of content from their artist-collective PEOPLE. It includes an EP from Vernon and Dessner’s project Big Red Machine, as well as contributions from Sufjan Stevens and the National’s Matt Berninger. Vernon said Big Red Machine had plans to release more music throughout the summer.
