Watch My Bloody Valentine Perform First Show in 5 Years

Kevin Shields reportedly experienced some technical difficulties and false starts

My Bloody Valentine played a show at Birmingham’s O2 Institute, kicking off their summer headlining tour. It was their first live show since 2013. As tradition for MBV shows, fans received a pair of earplugs upon arrival. According to fan reports, Kevin Shield experienced some technical difficulties and false starts. Find footage of the performance below.

Frontman Kevin Shield’s last live show was a rare solo set at Sigur Rós’ Icelandic festival in 2017. Earlier this year, MBV released “all analog versions” of their first two records, Isn’t Anything and Loveless. In March, Kevin Shields revealed that the band are working on a new “sprawling EP.”
