Watch Bernie Sanders’ Digital Rally Featuring Neil Young, Jim James, More

On March 16, Bernie Sanders live streamed a digital rally featuring guest appearances by Neil Young, Daryl Hannah, Jim James and Anderson .Paak’s backing band the Free Nationals. During the virtual rally, Jim James played a selection of tracks solo, and the Free Nationals played “Shibuya” “Eternal Light,” “Gidget,” and more. Neil Young performed “Heart of Gold” in front of a stone fireplace, playing acoustic guitar and a harmonica that was held in place by a camera tripod. Later, his wife Daryl Hannah and their dog joined in on the broadcast. Watch a recap below.

The digital rally featured speeches by Senator Sanders, Nina Turner, and more. “There are so many of us that just want to find common ground with all living beings so that we can move forward together as a world to live in peace, good health, and equality,” Jim James said in a press release. “Bernie speaks and lives the truth and has worked his entire life fighting for truth and justice- bringing people together for the common good and that is why I believe he can help unite us now.”

Several notable musicians have performed at rallies for Senator Sanders, including Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, Vampire Weekend, the Strokes, Public Enemy’s Chuck D, and more.
