Paris Jackson could not be more excited about her role in this week's episode of the Fox musical drama Star. In a behind-the-scenes video in which the daughter of Michael Jackson talks about her first major acting role she says that when she first heard about the show chronicling the rise of a scrappy girl group, "I watched the first couple episodes and fell in love." Then, after meeting creator Lee Daniels and finding out that he was interested in having her appear on the series she was hooked.
"This role is really opposite to me and for it being my first real on-camera acting, I think it's a good way for me to show my acting capabilities," she says of her character Rachel Wallace, a young, self-involved social media maven who oversees an increasingly risqué photo shoot with the group.
"Shooting was a lot of fun, everyone was so nice," she says. "The girls are amazing to work with. It was nice being welcomed so quickly." Star, which also features Queen Latifah as the group's guardian angel Carlotta and Naomi Campbell, airs on Fox on Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET. Jackson recently announced that she has signed to one of the world's top modeling agencies, IMG. She joins a roster that includes such supermodels as Gisele Bundchen, Kate Moss and Gigi Hadid.
