Watch Arca’s New “Desafío” Video

Jesse Kanda assists onanother new visual for a track off Arca’sexcellent self-titled album

By Amanda Wicks.

Earlier this month, Arca released his excellent new self-titled album, a follow-up to the 2015 album Mutant and a free 14-track project titled Entrañas. Now, he’s shared a new video for the song “Desafío.” Watch it below. Directed by longtime collaborator Jesse Kanda, the video once again stars Arca. Battered and bound in a leather straitjacket of sorts, he gets carried through the woods at night by a group of men. “Desafío” follows videos for the previously shared tracks “Anoche” and “Reverie,” both also directed by Kanda and starring Arca.

Arca & Jesse Kanda have announced dates throughout the year, including a performance at this year’s Pitchfork Music Festival. The festival takes place in Chicago’s Union Park from July 14–16. A Tribe Called Quest, LCD Soundsystem, and Solange will headline. Get tickets here. Find the rest of their dates, including Arca’s appearances as part of Björk’s live show, below.
