Watch a 9-Minute Scene From '10 Cloverfield Lane' (Exclusive)

Eight years after stunning audiences with his groundbreaking first-person monster mash Cloverfield, producer J.J. Abrams delivered a suspenseful spiritual sequel — less a direct follow-up than a second installment set in the same universe — with 10 Cloverfield Lane. Debuting on Blu-ray on June 14, it tells the story of a young woman (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) who gets into a car accident on the eve of some undisclosed nationwide incident, and awakens to find herself in an underground bunker whose owner (John Goodman) claims that they can’t leave because it’s unsafe outside.

While the secret behind Goodman’s paranoid survivalist is one that audiences should discover for themselves when the film hits home video, we now have an exclusive, nine-minute clip from the film’s opening act, during which Winstead, Goodman and their third bunkermate (John Gallagher, Jr.) share an incredibly tense dinner.

10 Cloverfield Lane is now available on Digital HD and arrives on Blu-ray and DVD on June 14.
