“Colin Jost knows how to make Saturday nights funny, and I am thrilled Colin will be live from the nation’s capital as the headline entertainer for this year’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner,” Kelly O’Donnell, president of the White House Correspondents’ Association, previously said in a statement.

“His sharp insights perfectly meet this remarkable time of divided politics, and a presidential campaign careening toward a rematch,” she added. “His smart brand of comedy and keen observation will turn up the heat on the national news media and across the political spectrum.

Jost follows in the footsteps of previous comedians who have headlined the dinner over the years, including Roy Wood Jr., Trevor Noah, Jay Leno, Keegan-Michael Key and more.

Proceeds raised at the dinner, which is a celebration of the First Amendment, go towards the WHCA and the journalists who work to cover the president. Student scholarships and awards will also be handed out.

Coverage of the red carpet arrivals starts at 6 p.m. ET and can be streamed live online at C-SPAN.org and the C-SPAN Now App. The dinner will be broadcast live on C-SPAN as well as livestreamed on C-SPAN’s website and YouTube at 8 p.m. ET, which can be found below.
