Warriors select Brazil’s Gui Santos with No. 55 overall pick in 2022 NBA Draft

To wrap up their 2022 NBA draft, the Golden State Warriors came back onto the clock in the second round with the No. 55 overall selection. After landing Patrick Baldwin Jr. in the first round and adding Ryan Rollins at No. 44 overall, the Warriors went international with their second pick in the second round.

With the No. 55 overall pick, Bob Myers and Steve Kerr brought in Gui Santos out of Brazil.

Prior to declaring for the NBA draft, Santos played professionally in Brazil’s NBB for Minas at 20-years-old. During the 2021-22 campaign, the 6-foot-7 wing tallied 10.5 points on 43.1% shooting from the field with 5.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists per contest.

With Golden State’s young core loaded with prospects like Jonathan Kuminga, James Wiseman, Moses Moody, Patrick Baldwin Jr. and Ryan Rollins, Santos could be a draft and stash option for the Warriors. With the NBA’s Summer League set to start in early July, we will soon to see a glimpse of the Warriors’ plan for their new draft pick Santos.
