In February, Warren Beatty inadvertently found himself at the center of the biggest scandal in Oscars history.
"I guess you could say it was chaos," Beatty told Graham Norton, during a new sit-down interview with the talk-show host.
An accountant from PricewaterhouseCoopers handed the actor the wrong envelope before he and co-presenter Faye Dunaway headed out onto the Oscars stage to present the award for best picture (two complete sets of actual winners' envelopes are created for the show).
As for the rest, audience got to see that play out in real time on the telecast, beginning with a clearly confused Beatty handing the envelope to Dunaway, who announces La La Land as the winner. The cast and crew of the Damien Chazelle-directed feature take the stage, only to find out that they had, in fact, not won, at which point Jordan Horowitz announces Moonlight as the real winner.
The incident led to an Academy investigation and multiple apologies by PwC.
